These are our last magnums of the best NV Champagnes we have tasted this year, and pricing is fantastic for the category. Robert Allait is another small grower Champagne house we discovered and will be working directly with. They are located in Villers Sous Chatillon in the Marne Valley, which is one of the areas where you can still find good deals for champagnes, and we found one here with the brut prestige. The vines at Robert Allait have been farmed organically for a decade, and this lovely Champagne is a blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay, and 15% Pinot Noir. Base vintages are 2021 and 2020, with 30% reserve wines going back a decade, finished with a dosage of 7g/l. This is an incredible value in today's market where it is almost impossible to find a great $29.99 Champagne, let alone an excellent one. The Cuvee Prestige shows lovely aromas of apple pie, stone fruit blossoms, fennel, brioche, and liquid minerals. The palate is fantastic, with the perfect balance of richness and acidity. Notes of spiced apple, saline, liquid minerals, a touch of spice, and lots of dry extract on the finish. Wow!
