Today, we have a case of 1986 Haut Marbuzet in nice condition (pictured above). This Saint-Estephe estate initially started with only 7 hectares planted by Herve Duboscq. His son Henri joined him a decade later, furthering his father's dream and expanding their holdings to become a respectable Chateau. Haut-Marbuzet is planted with roughly 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and smaller portions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The 1995 Bordeaux vintage was highly regarded. Ideal ripening conditions produced structured, age-worthy wines with excellent cellar structure, especially for the left bank. Haut-Marbuzet’s wines are known for their more opulent, fruit-forward profile, balanced by Saint-Estèphe’s natural minerality and power, which works well with the 1986vintage. The wine is almost 40 years old and a fantastic buy for Bordeaux with age!
