The 2022 has some beautiful fruit and and is less of a rustic example than what is commonly thought of from Savigny. Excellent refinement and purity, this is delicious and one that can be enjoyed on the earlier side.
The Pierre Guillemot Serpentiers had been one of our best-selling premier cru red burgundy in the 2018 and 2019 vintages then our allocation dried up. We are happy to announce that we procured a few cases of 2022, which looks to be among Domaine's best efforts yet. The 2022 will be a lovely translucid vintage that will drink well young but also have the balance to age. The best of both worlds. This wine comes from sixty-plus-year-old vines with some whole cluster grapes, producing concentrated wines with a solid core of fruit, spice, and floral notes with classic underbrush and minerality. There is not much else to be said. We highly recommend grabbing some, and William Kelley's note below helps validate what we have been saying for years!
