We have some of the only bottles available in the world of the '22s from Nathalie Vigot, one of our favorite small producers in Burgundy. The Vigot production is one of the tiniest in Burgundy, only making a few barrels of each wine. However, the wines, especially in the case of the Petit Monts, are exceptional, and we've been lucky enough to have a few older bottles in our cellar that we tasted a while back that reaffirmed how remarkable Nathalie Vigot is as a winemaker.
Domaine Vigot was founded in 1998 and is the smallest Domaine in Vosne-Romanee, with only 3,500 bottles annually. Nathalie makes pure, transparent, and elegant wines, directly representing the Vosne terroir made with an homage to the classic years of Burgundy. In an appellation dominated by giants, Nathalie stands with only a few small parcels, but what she can make from her limited assets is outstanding.
We have the new release of her three top wines today: the Flagship Les Petit Monts, the Vosne-Romanee AC, which comes from old vines, and the Red Burgundy, which comes from fruit within and just outside the appellation. Vigots Les Petit Monts is a prestigious vineyard in Vosne-Romanee, sharing an edge with great sites like Cros Parantoux, Richebourg, and Aux Reignots in one of the appellation's prime locations. One of our favorite expressions of this vineyard, Petit Monts, is a precise wine with excellent minerality and classic Vosne complexity. The AC follows the same formula and is harder to find than the Petits Monts, albeit from village fruit but from vines with some serious age. These are outstanding but very rare wines that are among the best in Burgundy, and we took everything our supplier had this vintage and should be the only bottles available. A client and personal favorite, if you only buy a few bottles from the 2022 vintage, these should be it!
