2020 Rapet Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne

$179.99
2020 Rapet Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne
2020 for white Burgundy is excellent, and we have a great deal on one of the best buys for Corton Charlemagne of the vintage. We sell more and more Rapet every year as people catch on to this fantastic producer, and over the past five years, the wines from this address have gotten very good, with 2020 being one of the best vintages ever the Domaine.
While it is still a relatively unknown address located in Pernand Vergerlesses, Rapet has a family history dating back to 1795 and is one of the largest single owners of Corton Charlemagne. Sourced from vines averaging 50 years old, this is a classic representation Corton-Charlemagne here, except for some Amphore usage, which Vincent Rapet says brings more freshness to the wine. There is plenty of power here, but also lots of elegance and refinement, creating that dynamic many of us love from the wines of Burgundy.
This is an excellent example of Corton Charlemagne, and to put how good this is for the price into perspective, Jasper Morris gave the 2020 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 94-97, and the 2020 Henri Boillot Corton Charlemagne 93-96 putting this in league with some of the top contenders of the vintage at a fraction of the pricing.
We have some of the only bottles available in the USA, and if you've never tried the wines from this address, it is a great vintage to get acquainted with Rapet.

Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy) 94-96 points! "Fine bright lemon and lime colour. The nose is rather toastier, doubtless the barrel speaking, but in an attractive form. A faint reduction. An excellent solid volume here, with density and the vivacious stones which it should have. All the component parts are there in classical balance and this 2020 Corton-Charlemagne is properly persistent."
