NV Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé

$49.99
NV Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé
A fantastic Rose From Paul Bara; we have a shipment that has arrived just in time for the end-of-the-year Celebrations. A beautiful Rose made with all Grand Cru fruit, this has long been a favorite among our clients and is one of the best buys for Rose Champagne at this friendly pricing.

Paul Bara's Grand Rose is excellent Champagne sourced from 100% grand cru fruit from Bouzy. This is fresh and forward, with high energy and complexity that keeps one drawn in. A blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 18% Chardonnay and 12% Bouzy Rouge made from Pinot Noir (Which they also bottle separately) shows an abundance of pinpoint bubbles that mousse up softly on the palate with delicious red fruits of wild strawberries and raspberries. It is not overly sweet, which can sometimes be a drawback to Rose Champagne. It has an underlying chalky minerality and a very precise refreshing citrus-like acidity that brings excellent balance to the party. As Galloni notes below, this is an excellent aperitif, perfect for enjoying a glass or two before dinner, with some light snacks, or on its own. It is consistently a lovely bottle and just a pleasure to drink while relaxing, yet it has enough going on to keep you engaged and coming back for more. We have low pricing today on this Rose, and this latest disgorgement is one of the best ever from Paul Bara.

Antonio Galloni 92 pts! "The NV Rosé Brut Grand Cru is another gorgeous Champagne from Paul Bara. Rich, resonant and super-inviting, the Brut Rosé has so much to offer. I especially admire the wine's breadth and expansiveness, both of which give it the versatility to drink beautifully as an aperitif or at the dinner table. The blend is 80% Pinot Noir (including 12% still Pinot) and 20% Chardonnay. Dosage of 8 grams per liter feels a bit on the high side, but this is nevertheless an absolutely joyous Champagne. Disgorged: May 2018. (Drink between 2019-2024)"

Burghound 91 points! "Oeil de perdrix color. A cool nose is fruity but not sweet with its array of strawberry, raspberry and whiffs of cherry and yeast. There is good effervescence to the delicious and nicely complex flavors that terminate in an attractively dry, clean and sneaky long finish despite the presence of a touch of youthful austerity. This is really quite a nice rosé and in much the same vein as the Réserve it's not refined but there is plenty of character. (Drink starting 2019)"
