Pascal Doquet's vintage Blanc de Blanc Vertus seldomly, if ever, makes its way to the US shores, and we have a lovely back vintage that accounts for the single best example of Vertus ever. Pascal Doquet is known for his incredible Blanc de Blancs sourced from villages like Le Mesnil and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger; however, he also makes this excellent Blanc de Blancs sourced from his hometown of Vertus. Vertus is serious Blanc de Blancs and is made from a selection of plots that Pascal finds best for the vintage. It is a powerful display of his masterful work with biodynamic Chardonnay and sees partial barrel aging with a low dosage, usually around 4 grams. We offered this on release many years ago, but since then, the 2008 has disappeared from the market. However, we were able to get a few late-release cases of this magnificent Blanc de Blancs, and with the extra time in the bottle, this is singing and is a fantastic buy for 2008 Blanc de Blancs.
