Les Sentiers is the domaine’s flagship cuvée and comes from their oldest parcel, planted in 1947, making these vines roughly 75 years old in the 2022 vintage. The vineyard sits at the northern end of Chambolle directly below Bonnes-Mares, with relatively deep, clay-rich soils that give Les Sentiers more power and structure than many of the village’s other Premier Crus while retaining Chambolle’s unmistakable elegance. Their 2022 version is excellent, offering up a deep and complex bouquet of red and black cherries, plums, a hint of beetroot, raw cocoa, a lovely base of chalky soil tones, gamebird, woodsmoke, discreet notes of mustard seed and a refined framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, young and full-bodied, with a beautiful core of fruit, fine soil undertow and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, complex and impeccably balanced finish. All this lovely bottle needs is enough time in the cellar to properly blossom!"
