2018 Domaine Michel Bregeon Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Les Vigneaux Gorges

$36.99
2018 Domaine Michel Bregeon Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Les Vigneaux Gorges

It's been a while since we have offered a Muscadet, but we found an excellent one here! Founded in 1975 by Michel Bregeon this estate is now run by Frederic Lailler. The Domaine was certified organic in 2018, and the oldest vines 65+ years go in the Les Vigneaux Gorges bottling. This corner of the Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine, Gorges, is particularly known for this soil, and all of the Domain's vines are planted in it. Gorges was among the first crus of the Sèvre-et Maine appellation to be recognized in 2011. The Melon de Bourgogne grape is used for this Cuvee, and 2018 is quite exceptional. The 2018 vintages is a riper one which I think works perfectly with the high acid wines from Muscadet. There are gorgeous aromas of white flowers, nectarine, honey, minerals, and a touch of sage. The palate has incredible depth and power yet is kept vibrant and focused by the acidity of the wine. The finish echoes saline and dry extract. This is gorgeous juice and one of the best Muscadet we have tasted in quite a while.
