The new release from one of Piedmont's most consistent best buy addresses, 2018, is another excellent addition to the history of Produttori's Barbaresco. An expressive and complex Barbaresco that gives a beautiful glimpse of the vintage made from many of the incredible single vineyards of the estate. The past vintages of Produttori have been some of our top-selling Italian wines ever, and 2018 is another excellent vintage following suit that should outdo the '17s. 2018 was not an easy vintage with frost, heavy rains, and hail that particularly affected Barbaresco. However, while there were these issues, water was not a problem like in previous years, and the overall temperatures throughout the growing season were generally regular, with warm days and cool nights. It should be an elegant yet powerful vintage with a great sense of place and lovely fruit. The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo from Produttori received a 92 from Monica Larner, indicating that the Barbaresco proper should be a phenomenal bottle and one of the top buys of the vintage once again. We have excellent pricing here, especially with the volume discount on some of the only bottles available in the USA, highly recommended for all Piedmont fans.
