We have excellent pricing on a limited amount of Ciacci's Crown Jewel, the Riserva version of the special single-vineyard bottling Pianrosso from the fantastic 2019 vintage. 2019 is one of the best examples of the Riserva in the Cantina's long history, and it is a spectacular vintage for the Pianrosso overall. The vines for this special bottling are grown at an elevation of 1,200 feet on soils featuring marl from the Eocene period. It is an ultra-complex, intense wine with incredible minerality, and one of Sangiovese's ultimate high-altitude single-vineyard expressions. This wine always shows incredible purity and precision, with captivating complexity, and 2019 has some serious power behind it as well. Good now but will only get better over the next decade, this is a contender for one of the top Brunello di Montalcino buys this vintage, especially at this low pricing!

The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna di Pianrosso Santa Caterina d'Oro offers a darkly concentrated approach with a bouquet built upon black fruit intensity, spice, earth and cured tobacco. I find the approach quite robust and heavy-handed. This vintage is especially concentrated and best recommended to those looking for this hearty style. The tannins come with a hint of dryness. Production is 18,600 bottles with some larger formats."
