We have a bit of the rare Cuvee Guy Moreau available today from 2022. This is another excellent vintage for Moreau, with a much-needed high-quality crop after the devastation of the '21 vintage. Though frosts still slashed yields, the secondary buds were fine, which was not the case in 2021. Jasper Morris says the 2022 vintage is neck and neck with 2020 and one of the best in the last several years. This family has been curating the vines and making wine in Chablis for six generations, owning 12 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards, which comprise the core of their production. Moreau seeks to make wines that fully display the high-quality fruit and expression of these great vineyards. As a result, these are incredibly pure and complex wines that show the fantastic interplay of power and elegance that Grand Cru Burgundy should have. Cuvee Guy Moreau is from a special old vine plot of vines that was planted in 1933 by Guy Moreau and are the oldest vines of the domaine. It's one of the ultimate expressions of Vaillons and a tremendously good example in 2022. We have a very limited amount available today, and right now, these are the only bottles available in the US.

"The 2022 Chablis Vaillon 1er Cru Cuvée Guy Moreau, matured half and half in vat and barrels, has a cohesive nose with shucked oyster shells infusing the citrus fruit. Quite classic in style. The palate is well-balanced with impressive depth and elegance. Sapid towards the finish with gentle grip, this Cuvée Guy Moreau is extremely promising. (Drink between 2026-2042)"
