Burghound 92-95 pts! Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable today. I very much like both the texture and the intensity of the refined yet powerful medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the detailed and strikingly long finish. This is a wine of finesse and punch and one that should amply repay extended keeping. (Drink starting 2031)
Jasper Morris 92-94 pts! Pale lemon yellow. The wood is more apparent here but there is a volume of fruit to match. This is lively with just medium body, more in the typical white fruit mode, balanced acidity and good persistence. Drink from 2026-2033
Vinous (Neal Martin) 92-94 pts! The 2021 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru was completely fermented in barrel from which my sample is taken. It has a taut and linear bouquet, lemon curd and light green apple notes with underlying granitic scents. The palate is well balanced with a pure entry, lemon zest and orange rind intermixed with light nettle and gooseberry notes towards the strict finish. Give this well-crafted Vaudésir a couple of years in bottle. (Drink between 2025 - 2048)
