2022 Domaine Joblot Givry 1er Cru Clos de la Servoisine

$42.99
2022 Domaine Joblot Givry 1er Cru Clos de la Servoisine
The 2022 Clos de la Servoisine looks like this vintage's best Joblot wine. The 2022 red Burgundies are quite lovely and will provide early drinkability. This estate is currently run by Juliette Joblot, who took over the Domaine from her father, yet the philosophy at the Domaine is unchanged, and if anything, quality has improved under Juliette. She is working sustainably in the vineyards, limiting yields by de-budding, green harvesting, and strict sorting before the grapes enter the fermenters. Juliette picks for acidity, and only the highest quality fruit makes it to the final cut. She has been known to cut 40% of the vintage because the quality did not meet her standards. The grapes are 90% de-stemmed and fermented in a tank before being transferred to barrels, with a small percentage being new. This is a magnificent example and clearly shows that this is a Terroir worth discovering and, in the correct hands, a valuable addition to the appellations of Burgundy. This will be one of the best buys of the vintage and typically a $60 bottle. We have a limited amount remaining at this low pricing, and it comes highly recommended.

Burghound 91-94 pts! A markedly more floral-suffused nose features notes of black pinot fruit, exotic tea and a whiff of oak toast. Once again I very much like the texture of the sleeker and finer medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the firm but refined finale that delivers even better depth and persistence. Excellent.
