2022 Marie-Courtin Champagne Résonance Extra Brut

$59.99
2022 Marie-Courtin Champagne Résonance Extra Brut

Marie Courtin is a respected grower Champagne producer led by Dominique Moreau, who named the estate after her influential grandmother. Based in Polisot, in the Aube, Dominique primarily works with Pinot Noir and follows biodynamic farming principles to produce Champagnes with a clear, site-driven identity. Production is tiny, with fewer than 50,000 bottles made annually, yet the wines have become highly sought after for their purity, precision, and distinctive vineyard character. Résonance is one of the best entry points into the Marie Courtin style, made from 100% Pinot Noir hand-harvested from roughly 40-year-old massale-selection vines in a single vineyard in Polisot, grown on clay-limestone soils with Kimmeridgian bands. The wine is fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and aged 24 to 30 months sur lattes with a very low dosage, allowing the natural richness and ripeness of the fruit to come through without masking the minerality of the terroir. The 2022 release has a little more fruit and natural generosity than leaner years, but it remains on the vinous, mineral, and sharply defined side. We have a limited amount at this great price, and for anyone serious about grower Champagne, this is definitely one to grab.
