We rarely, if ever, offer Rioja Blanco other than from Lopez y Heredia, but we have e a great one today from this small producer, Vinos en Voz Baja. Founded in 2010, Vinos en Voz Baja is situated in the heart of Spain's renowned Rioja region, encompassing 25 hectares of meticulously cultivated vineyards. Renowned for its commitment to traditional winemaking techniques, the winery skillfully combines age-old methods with modern innovation, producing wines that are expressive of the region's unique terroir. With a history rooted in Rioja's rich winemaking heritage, Vinos en Voz Baja is swiftly gaining recognition, and this Rioja Blanco is exceptional.
The Costumbres Blanco is 100% organically farmed Viura from Clay-Loam soil. The wine is fermented with natural yeasts and spends about eight months in older oak barrels. The result here is stunning, with lovely aromas of white flowers, peach, pear, macadamia nuts, and lychee. The palate is vibrant and focused, with tons of dry extract and lovely salinity. A true standout and we are the only shop in the USA that currently has this wine.
