2023 Francois Carillon Bourgogne Blanc

$34.99
2023 Francois Carillon Bourgogne Blanc

François Carillon makes one of the best buys for Bourgogne Blanc, and the just-arrived 2023 is a standout example in the category. The Carillons have farmed Puligny-Montrachet for roughly five centuries, and François’ wines match brother Jacques for quality while often landing at a gentler price. This cuvée is largely drawn from Puligny parcels, including some declassified village fruit and vines that are around 60 years old, which is why this Bougogne Blanc is particularly good. All hand-picked, whole-cluster pressed, and aged for about 10–12 months in mostly used barrels, with some stainless steel tanks used to keep it clean and focused. The 2023 is excellent, showing refined citrus and crisp orchard fruit, chalky snap, and bright acidity with real depth and elegance that pushes beyond the Bourgogne level. It is delicious now and can rest a few years if you prefer, making it an easy, by-the-case recommendation for both classic Burgundy drinkers and domestic Chardonnay fans!
