N.V. Sabine Godmé Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé

$44.99
N.V. Sabine Godmé Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé

Our top seller for Grower Rose Champagne, Sabrine Godme, was one of the first Growers we ever tasted with and started offering many years ago. Established in the 1930s, the 11 hectares were split between Sabine and her brother Hugh Godme, whom many know from his great Rose Champagne. Sabine and her husband, Jean Marie Guillaume, head their estate with vines primarily located in the grand cru villages of Verzy and Verzenay, two of the most incredible Grand Crus in the Montagne de Reims, with Verzy bringing more of the elegant and tense side, and Verzenay providing ample power and structure. On average, the vines are 30 years old, and farming is entirely sustainable. All the Champagnes see some barrel fermentation, adding to the complexity and giving the otherwise very focused Champagne a bit more roundness.

Sabrine's Rose is gorgeous, made with a 50-50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Grand Cru Villages of Verzenay, Verzy, and Beaumont-sur-Vesle with 40% added reserve wine finished with a perfect 7-gram dosage. This is a lovely showing with aromas of cranberry, blood orange, liquid minerals, and soil tones that jump from the glass. The palate is rich and full of fresh red fruit flavors, fine bubbles, and a powerful palate-staining finish. This tasted like a beautiful Volnay with bubbles and is absolutely gorgeous but very limited, so grab one while supplies last!
