We tasted with Jose Michel recently while in France, and the house is modernizing some of its labels to amplify the brand's allure. Premices is our first offer of their newly redesigned Rose, and while the label here has changed (we think for the better), the Champagne has not and remains the same cuvee we know and love at the same low pricing. Few Grower Roses can compete with Jose Michel at this price point, and for years, it has been one of the ultimate buys in the category and our best-selling Rose Champagne of all time. This is pure artisanal grower bubbles from one of the longest-tenured vignerons in Champagne and a lovely bottle at pricing that rarely exists today. José only owns a tiny number of Pinot Noir vines, and this is where they predominantly go. It's a great house pour, and while he's more known for his old vine Special Club, this is another insider's secret and one of the best buys from Jose Michel. While it is virtually the same, this is the best rendition we have tasted. It is a rose that always fires with expressive red fruits, flowers, and minerals while carrying harmony through the palate with vibrant acidity and ample richness. It's simply a beautiful bottle continuing their streak for the best buy in the category.
