Marc Hebrart is a favorite among everyone, one of the top grower Champagne producers of our time, headed by Jean-Paul Hebrart. These are some of the most incredible buys in Champagne, and this Cuvee is a Pinot dominate blend from 50+-year-old vines finished up with roughly 30% Chardonnay and is an overachieving bottle of bubbles that consistently ages past what it should be capable of doing. Complex, mineral-driven, and balanced. This is classic Hebrart, and in this format, it’s an any day, any time kind of Champagne. A perfect little bottle for the holidays as a gift or when just a few glasses of Champagne are in order.
John Gilman 91 points! "The current release of the from Jean-Paul Hébrart’s “Selection” bottling is from the base year of 2016, with forty percent of the cuvée comprised of reserve wines from the 2015 vintage. The cépages is seventy percent pinot noir and thirty percent chardonnay, with all of the vines contributing fruit for this bottling at least forty years of age. The vins clairs all go through malo and the wine was aged sur latte for three years prior to disgorgement in October of 2019. The nose offers up a fine blend of white peach, apple, sourdough bread, chalky soil tones and a topnote of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and focused, with a good core, frothy mousse and fine length and grip on the complex finish. This is a fine bottle of non-vintage Brut, with the slightly higher percentage of chardonnay here giving the wine a more floral aspect than in the Cuvée de Réserve"
Antonio Galloni 90 points! "The NV Brut Sélection is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from old vines in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d'Or and Bisseuil. Creamy, ample and expressive, the Sélection exudes lovely balance and tons of class. Orchard fruit, spice and lemon confit all flesh out in this beautifully textured, inviting Champagne. This release is 60% 2016 and 40% 2015. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: November, 2019."
