We were able to source a few cases of this fantastic Premier Cru Chablis; while not the current release, the 2018s are exceptional from Fevre, and with a tad more age, it is starting to show very well. Montee de Tonnerre is one of the favorite Premier Crus from Chablis and is typically the standard for many addresses; if you make a good Montee de Tonnerre, it is generally seen as a successful vintage. MDT is located on the right bank of the Serin river just south of the Grand Cru Chablis sites and is considered by many to be the best Premier Cru in Chablis.
2018 was more powerful than the classic vintage for Chablis, yet Fevre was able to find excellent balance here, and this is as elegant an example as you will find this vintage. It shows a beautiful complexity of fruit minerals and flowers, which are the key aspects of an excellent Chablis with lively acidity and length and is relatively deep at the core.

There is very good minerality and delineation to the lacy and refined yet punchy flavors that deliver sneaky good length where the intensity really builds from the mid-palate to the driving finish. This classy and elegant effort could arguably use a bit more depth, but it is already lovely."
