Henri Boillot is a legendary address, and the wines are better than ever, with 2020 being an outstanding vintage that showcases a serious lineup of extraordinary wines. While a father-and-son operation, Henri still crafts all of the white wines and possesses a masterful touch that brings out the best in these exceptional sites. The Genevrières is a Domaine holding that shows exceptionally well now, having matured in the bottle, and is a sensational example from Boillot in 2020. Burghound 94 points! "A naturally exotic nose offers up hints of freshly sliced ginger, jasmine tea, pear and plenty of floral elements. The more subtle and notably finer medium weight flavors exude a light minerality on the caressing and seductive finish that is lemony, bone-dry and sneaky long finale. This is compact and serious, and I would suggest allowing this a minimum of 5 years of cellaring first."

Decanter (Charles Curtice) 94 points! "The result is a bit closed initially, but with time the fruit begins to take shape - ripe pear, beeswax, mineral and marzipan. The texture is very subtle and elegant, retaining a surprising level of acidity that leads it to a lovely, lingering finish. Produced from a domaine-owned parcel of 0.16ha, the fruit is lightly crushed and pressed in a vertical press, prior to fermenting in cask (25% new) and ageing for 14 months."
