2024 Domaine Jomain Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc

$29.99
2024 Domaine Jomain Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc

Jomain continues to make one of the best buys in the Bourgogne Blanc category, and the new 2024 vintage is another outstanding example. The fruit comes from a prime Chardonnay site right on the Puligny-Montrachet border, planted in the early 80s on classic limestone soils and farmed with the same attention given to the domaine’s Premier Cru holdings. Domaine Jomain is run by siblings Philippe, Catherine and Christophe Jomain, who bring decades of experience to the estate and produce clean, terroir-driven Chardonnay with restrained oak, excellent purity and a distinctly Puligny-like sense of precision. The wine is raised in a combination of stainless steel and barrel, giving it just enough richness and texture while preserving freshness and mineral definition. We just tasted the 2024 and were incredibly impressed—crisp lemon, green apple, and white peach are joined by subtle floral notes and a chalky mineral core, with a surprisingly ample mid-palate and a clean, elegant finish. This drinks like a mini Puligny-Montrachet: accessible young, but with enough depth, balance and sense of place to perform well beyond its classification. While 2024 was certainly a challenging vintage, wines like this are a reminder that great producers still made beautiful Burgundy, even at the regional level. Best of all, there is no upcharge over the previous vintage, making this an incredible buy at the price and simply not one to miss!
